IIT JEE (Joint entrance exam) is one of the most prestigious and competitive entrance exams in India for admission to undergraduate engineering Programs at IITs (Indian institutes of Technology), NIT and other top engineering colleges of India. It consists of two stages JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
Overview
1. JEE Main is Computer based test held twice a year (January and April sessions).
2. It consists of
- 25 questions from Physics
- 25 questions from chemistry
- 25 questions from Maths
3. Duration of the exam is three hours and JEE Main store is used to for admissions to NITS, IITS and other GFTIS, and is also the qualifier for JEE Advanced.
JEE Advanced
- Only Candidates who quality in JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
- Duration of the exam is three hours for each paper (2 Papers).
- It is held once in a year (usually in may).
- Based on JEE Advanced scores, students are admitted to various IITs across India.
